
How it Might Work/Straw Man Components?
The economy will be divided into appropriate sectors, following those as set up by existing government data- i.e. NAICS/SIC- and broader categorization- i.e. durable manufacturing, financial services, education- and those with unique governance will be called out further- i.e. pharmaceuticals.
These sectors will be studied by a team of student analysts who will interface with corporations and government agencies and channel partners and consumers. The consumers’ needs and rights and promoting competition will be the overriding concern.
The student team will be cross functional in nature and become experts in utilizing government research appropriate to the sector (County Business Patterns, Census Reports, FDA Clinical Studies, HUD Publications) as well as subject matter knowledge by employing multifaceted scientific and professional/objective primary and secondary research practices and using and building knowledge in economic theory, statistical analysis and modeling, and classical market research/primary and secondary research techniques and operating practices. The students will also interface with Trade Associations and Organizations in the Sector. The students will be encouraged to work sequentially in different sectors so as to enhance their ability to analyze industries and not become overly reliant on the ingrained thinking of one sector and to encourage the building of a transferable body of knowledge.
Participation will be encouraged from all classic disciplines, including: history, literature, theology, philosophy, economics, mathematics, statistics, engineering, science, medicine, the arts, and commerce/business and older textbooks that taught principles in accordance with healthier, decentralized, economies and an understanding of the appropriate role of government will be utilized.
An interactive platform will be created, whereby consumers can indicate if they are having problems with an organization and monthly/quarterly reports can be generated. Consumers and the general public will have visibility into how systemic these issues are.
In addition, contacts can be provided for consumers to take action- i.e. Attorney General Offices, Federal Government agencies, and even hedge funds or investment agencies can be provided information regarding the actions of the corporations they monitor, finance or trade.
Activities include:
- Review of Industry concentration/mergers and acquisitions in light of anti-trust laws,
- Monitoring customer complaints via petition like software, whereby quantifying the subjective is possible to the degree necessary to signify a legitimate rogue business practice.
- Providing resources to consumers regarding how to file and monitor legitimate complaints, what their rights are, etc…
- Providing reports to industry leaders, government officials and agencies, etc. about economic behavior at the micro level.
- Measuring and bring to light hidden issues- foreign corporate ownership rates, foreign ownership land rates, interest rate exploitation, wage rates, etc… Through secondary and primary research techniques.
- Teaching the students in this area how to appropriately interface with leaders, by having forums on leadership given by leaders who will provide action oriented training talks and workshops, whereby those attending can both learn and learn to teach/pass on and employ what they have learned.
- Rigorous research standards will be employed and resources for proper education and peer review of these standards will be employed by experienced classically trained researchers and statisticians and economists, etc… Sources will be sited, multiple, and checked.
- The encouragement and incubation of new business models that adhere to the Moral principles will ideally result.
Results will be tracked. Collectively and Individually, we will bring our nation back to basics with the consumer first and foremost in the spirit of Peter Drucker and true entrepreneurialism where having a decent business to support yourself and your family and your employees and provide good services to your customers takes precedence over “analysts” and “investors”.
This will serve to bring back truth, accountability, joy and humanism in commerce regardless of the economic conditions faced by people.
