We also have a successful bag lunch program whereby an individual or family or small group can provide over 500 bag lunches in a year for less than the cost of takeout coffee daily for a year. Please inquire.
Both these programs are part of our vision for Rec Centers for Those in Need, especially Veterans whereby they can serve others as they recuperate and refresh and re-establish themselves for God’s purpose in their lives. We believe churches would be an ideal setting for such Rec Centers as they have space during weekdays, Churches generally have kitchens and space during the week and have a heart for God’s children in need. The rec centers can provide a place for cooking, art, music, learning to play bridge, g and other card games, language, etiquette, manners, learning proper attire, language and public speaking, fellowship and prayer, support groups, sports if space allows, and more! Restore America Corps groups that work on understanding and solving our country's problems, resume writing, career counseling and fun. The centers would be open to all people of good will. Many homeless have a shelter to sleep in at night but are on their own during the day.
The Hope Houses could be self-funded by selling cards utilizing the art and selling the music produced by rec center visitors in a "Cards Across America" fashion. Good Music can be written, played, produced and shared from the Hope Houses and Good Music is Good Medicine. Please see Tea Time Productions.
The rec centers shall be called Hope Houses. Try to envision this and contact us with your thoughts and how we can make this dream happen. Let's all have hope for and work towards a better tomorrow.
